Signal Hill is pleased to announce that on September 15, the firm hosted Matt Olsen, former Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), and a group of approximately 50 entrepreneurs, C-level executives, and technology investors at a networking event at 451 Research’s Hosting + Cloud Transformation Summit in Las Vegas.
Mr. Olsen’s speech centered on new cybersecurity threats, challenges in defense of digital infrastructure, and lessons learned from recent cyberattacks. He called for increased coordination between the private sector and government, as well as among companies competing in the same industry.
“In an age of big data, internet infrastructure and cloud companies are on the front lines of combating threats to privacy and data security, and are key constituents in developing the next generation of software that can assess and identify threats in real time,” Mr. Olsen said. “It was a privilege to be able to provide the full context and scope of today’s cybersecurity challenges.”
“Matt is recognized worldwide as an expert on this topic,” said Scott Wieler, Chairman and CEO of Signal Hill. “We are thrilled Matt shared his views on threats directly impacting the cloud and its ecosystem of hosting and datacenter providers. Our guests greatly benefited from his insights on the technologies that will be most effective in addressing these challenges.”
Prior to joining the NCTC, Mr. Olsen was the General Counsel of the National Security Agency. He is currently a cofounder and executive at IronNet, a cybersecurity technology firm, a lecturer at Harvard Law School, and ABC News analyst.
The 451 Summit, the premier forum for executives in the hosting, cloud computing, datacenter, and Internet Infrastructure sectors, brings together entrepreneurs, analysts, service providers, hardware and software vendors, and investment professionals in cloud computing.
